If you think for one moment that someone is beyond the capability of brilliance or bereft of spiritual wonder, look again! There is the source of wonder in life! - WD Allan Opinions vary, oration abounds, but wisdom is a personal thing that only grows with time no matter how seemingly benign the personality. - WD Allan One exacts the sort of tone to the manner of life that one chooses. This never dependent upon others, but availed by others frequently. - WD Allan What good does it do to foment the juices of temper or to project the perverse platitudes of perniciousness? To be simply "IS". The flavor and the color of "BE"-ing you choose as a consequence of your existence! - WD Allan There is no belief so adamant in its truth or so ill-flexible in its durability that it cannot stand to the process of oration or the dispensary of weathering. - WD Allan Instead of asking what is there to believe? The better question to ask might be, who decides what there is to believe, and why should I? - WD Allan There is rebirth from every fall to ashes, there is new awareness from every meditation and you "ARE" every moment of re-creation you choose to be! - WD Allan Indulging ones own anger to the point of emotional flatulence serves little other purpose beyond stinking up the atmosphere of the spirit. - WD Allan When we exist as we truly are and not as a parable of being concocted through the formulations of others, we begin to exhibit a symmetry of being that is untouchable by anyone or anything in existence. There is no obsolescence to any part of whom we try to be, think we want to be, or who we could be, for we simply are who we are and that's all there is to it. This soulful spiritual symmetry is what we experience in our most private of moments, in our most private of relationships and most of all in our relationship to what we individually recognize as the Great Spirit in our lives. True happiness its been said comes from within, not from without. If there is any truth to this in existence and of course there is, then true happiness comes from that symmetry from BE-ing closely in-tune with our true selves, not our cast presentations that are so common to everyday existence. Be not a presented mask, but what remains at the core underneath that presented mask. - WD Allan When you look at the world amidst all of its complexities, perceive it through the same lens that you do your inner-self. Remember that things you perceive are not as they always seem to be on the surface. To relegate the perception of what's true to what seems to be true, is often as a chasm the likes of which could be filled with the universe itself. - WD Allan When you perceive yourself, your achievements and your set-backs remember this. Who you seem to be on the surface is always best augmented and tuned and presented to others as well as yourself, when your "in-tune" with that part of your being that is your true self. "BE" who you are, not who others would make you out to be! - WD Allan Believe in yourself. So much so that you don't infuse the messages of others when they tell you that you can't succeed in life. Believe in yourself! - WD Allan Sometimes victory isn't defined by an objective gained, or a finite claimed, or another quelled. Sometimes ones finest victory in existence is through the awareness that is gained and never relinquished again. - WD Allan I was recently asked if I really believed in the other side of the veil, that beyond our deaths? I said, "close your eyes and look within for what is beyond, and you will have your answer for yourself." - WD Allan In the past I have been asked by a few people that in challenging spirits to make themselves known, it was to no avail. Then they ask why they should they believe in them when no proof presents itself? I then respond, why should spirits reveal themselves to one who so dispels them with such adamant self-determination? Would they themselves cooperate to such a spiritually hostile challenge? - WD Allan Faithfully revealing your qualities to others seems hard. Fascinating that faithfully revealing your talents to yourself seems even harder! - WD Allan Believing in the Great Spirit is taxing enough for one through the hardest times of life. Why then is believing in yourself even harder? - WD Allan The time honored saying has been that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and if the beholder of who and what you are remains principally in the eyes of the Great Spirit, then you surely must be the most beautiful thing in all of the universe! Certainly we all have days, weeks, and even longer periods when we feel out of touch and disconnected with the more wonderful and beautiful parts of ourselves. Its in the human condition. Its in the condition of existence. Its a natural thing to sometimes think of yourself as be-ing in some state of the "other-than". The lighter side of this all is that from this state of being, comes the fruition of the awareness of the self and from that, the spiritual awareness that creates all of who and what you are, what you will be, and what you always intended yourself to be! Don't despair! RE-create yourself just when you want to! Why not today? - WD Allan There is an ancient Buddhist tale that tells of a man who once, during a most difficult time in his life chose to climb a tall mountain in order to gain a better perspective of things. After he reached the summit of the tallest peak he sat down in meditation for one day, then two, and then finally three days and he still hadn't gained any revelation into where the solution to his problems lay. He only saw the landscape, the clouds and the sky. On the fourth day's evening he rose his eyes to the stars of the nighttime sky and then suddenly realized there was one thing he hadn't done as of yet to help him gain some insight. He then rose his voice to the sky begging the universe for some insight, for some answer to his life situation and some insight to his path forward. On the morning of the fifth day, he rose to his feet and walked down the mountain rather disgusted that he hadn't been bestowed with any gift of thought, of mind or of spirit to help him along his way. When he returned to his home, he decided to set himself to the task of solving his problems himself since it was clear the universe had no intention of helping him. He did solve his problems and was quite proud of his accomplishments. Many years later he discussed this entire situation with a holy man. After finishing his recitation, the holy many smiled from ear to ear which certainly seemed to irritate the mountain climbing man. The man asked, "Why are you smiling? There was no gift of insight, no answer from the heavens, no revelation from the spirit to help me! I had to do it all by myself! What do you say to that?" To this, the holy man responded, "but the spirit did answer you." He went on to say, "Your response to the revelation you gained was to get off of your backside and to walk the path of life in a solution instead of a complaint!" The holy man then left.... - © WD Allan If your told to believe without question, you might want to question the purpose and the motives of those who tell you not to question. There is no spiritual truth in any context that could ever be threatened by the path of the query. - WD Allan If your told to blindly follow a path without understanding the course and the purpose of that path, you might want to pause and reinvestigate. - WD Allan If your told to hold a message of spiritual truth as law, when your certain it stands against your principles, you might want to reevaluate that spiritual truth. - WD Allan If your certain your spiritual principles are aligned with that of your soul and that of what you understand of humanity, BE confident with spiritual surety. - WD Allan If you find yourself in a state of constant questioning about yourself, about the world, about society, and about the Great Spirit, think of this state as wearing a set of blinders that averts some of the glare of the brilliance of being from your vision. Sometimes we keep ourselves from recognizing our own path in existence for what it is. There is however one solution to this problem. Its one that each and every person has in their command should the choice only be made. "Try removing them." - WD Allan An abundance of wealth of the spirit is said to be the greatest commodity of all in existence. It's even been said that this very substance of being depends upon nothing that can be bought or sold, traded or stolen. Even the wealth commonly associated with ones mannered securities of life has no bearing upon the wealth of your spirit. To trust that your life will unfold as it should is the most valuable bit of awareness one could ever hope for. Because when this realization makes its way into ones consciousness, then the fears and the subsequent angers associated with the meager securities of life become real as they truly are, not as they seem to become with all of the anxieties and fears thrown in to the mix. To trust that your path is the right one and that those sometimes most questionable periods when things seems so unsure, when things just don't unfold right away into those planned corners of existence, its a valuable thing to carry an insight of faith in oneself when the chips don't fall in ones favor right away. Its a valuable character trait, to trust and to look to something greater than oneself when the fog of life is so thick, you don't have a clue about what to do next. Except to trust that your grand picture, your great perspective rings true to your core and that what you are doing and what you are serving is right, and good, and true to and for the best in humankind and to the best of the spirit. Trust in yourself! You have that right! Trust in the Great Spirit, you also have that right! For one is and remains in tune with the other, even when you think that it's not. Trust in that within yourself as well as that, from outside of yourself to bring things back into perspective. Especially when the rest of things for the time being seem completely out of your vision. They will in time focus into your perspective, for this is what life and experience is all about. Trust! - WD Allan Spirituality has always been the last thing seriously pondered by one set to the paths of ill, anger and hate and its the first usually set to the chopping block of need in the manner of a separation from the soul. Amazing it is that any individual spiritual creed set to the winds of something holy should so frequently... elicit such ill on the part of so many depicting their own spirituality as their motive. - WD Allan It is an emotional and an unsure world we live in right now. Thoughtfulness set before ones anger works best against the inevitable results of ill-intent. - WD Allan If one is truly aligned with spirituality, the last thing one seeks is to degrade another's in turn. Instead of defamation of someone else's beliefs, why not rather seek understanding. The path is much more productive and settles better than sour milk on a stomach, let alone the soul. - WD Allan Wisdom begins not at the tail of a thought, but rather it begins at the head of it. If one is so smart that they cannot learn from others in life, they will have no room for wisdom in their minds. - WD Allan Once one makes a decision to truly be and to open-up to the wonders and to the majesty that comes from truly BE-ing, then that so called "rare event" of a wonderful happening can become an increasingly experienced way of existence. You see, when we live in an eternal defensive mode to the entirety of the world albeit to the people throughout, then we become all too guarded to what we might otherwise draw into our sphere of being. None of this is to say that we shouldn't be careful in life! We can however pace our guardedness and allow ourselves to "BE" instead of not allowing ourselves to BE a majority of the time. This really is something to think on. - WD Allan One of the most contentious of humankinds differences between one another is that of spiritual affiliation. Imagine the world if the qualities of respect and love quelled the deconstructive influences of irrational fear and the ever expanding influences of hate? - WD Allan To discover ones purpose in life is a chief aim for all and this continues throughout this life until physical purpose seems no more. The greatest revelation? Purpose never, ever ends. Purpose is the very core of the fabric of BE-ing and thus, it is at the core of the essence of spiritual self awareness. Purpose IS the... essence of life itself and its what provides conscious being to us all.- WD Allan There are plenty of reasons to continue to re-visit the ills one has become so familiar with in life, and one sound reason to move beyond them all. Peace - WD Allan It only takes a moment to stop and take in the wonder of existence. It unfortunately takes many the better part of a lifetime to learn to stop for such a brief moment. Take some time each day to wonder of the space around you and even more of the people with you. When you combine them all into some meditation into the experience of existence, the whole landscape then becomes much clearer. - WD Allan To temper yourself isn't a sign of weakness. To moderate your anger, to quell your rage, to know yourself isn't an indication that you live too much in some surreal self-adored state of wanton perfection. It is to live confidently and surely with the understanding that you are, and you become, and that you are NEVER ALONE! - WD Allan To live a life based upon lies, is to build your house on a foundation of sand. Eventually such structures faulter and fall to ashes. Life isn't a house of cards being dealt and reissued day after day. Life and all of existence is a mansion wrought of the finest materials, created and re-created inch by inch, yard by yard, and drafted from the grandest of visions. YOURS! - WD Allan Many devoted of spiritualists in history were willing to risk reputation and more to express what they were confident was extant truth. "BE" your existence! Don't allow others to steer your beliefs for you. - WD Allan A life lived in synergy with spiritual belief will compliment one better than a life lived in a vacuum of spiritual belief. Think of it as living on an island with no resources. Think of it as reaching your hand out in a crowd for help and receiving none in return. Think of it as existing within a blank shell with no other measure of the self to help tack its way through the seas of life! - WD Allan Many times while addressing various groups I've related the time that I crossed paths with someone who was so obsessed with his "problems" one day that he had meandered his way through past noontime without even noticing that the sun was out, the clouds were few, the birds were singing and the totality of things at that moment in the universe did seem oh so calm and peaceful, to most other people. When I had asked him what he thought of that fine day, he responded, "what fine day?" He later admitted that he hadn't even noticed that the weather was so beautiful and the general mood surrounding him was peaceful and positive beyond prose! His personal mind had become so occupied with what he later also admitted wasn't all that problematic after all and he had become a little bit embarrassed that he had turned it all into such a mountain. A lesson learned in life for sure, if only for a little while. Keep things in proper perspective! - WD Allan I recall once hearing that if you ever think of peace as a permanent possibility, the first step always rests with yourself. Re-create it! - WD Allan In my youth I can clearly recall once thinking, "if only I had a way to show others, how exciting and how beautiful the world is through my eyes!" No kidding, I really did think this, and in many ways I never really stopped thinking like this. Its probably why I now do what I do with my life. In those times when I was teased by other kids, I recall thinking that they too had parents who loved them like mine loved me, so I never could hate them. I was just confused as most kids are with the actions of others that I never truly understood. In our world today I don't think its all that different to kid or adult. If you have trouble noticing the beauty in the world, try stopping for awhile and looking inward for the keys to your perceptions. They might just open up a world that is profound in its beauty. - WD Allan As forgiveness is one of the purest of spiritual acts between one another, a great spiritual revelation that usually follows it is to the understanding that people are truly connected with one another in integral ways. Its not by chance that people generally feel better, feel somewhat relieved and are better tuned to the energy of life when in the presence of others, even when they might believe otherwise. An old saying is that "many hands makes for light work!" In a spiritual sense, many souls makes for the fortification of the energy of existence. Don't steer yourself from being around others, but rather avoid steering yourself to a state of unproductive alone-ness. - WD Allan Forgiveness is the greatest of creative expressions we can not only bestow unto others, but in the greatest sense, it is the purest of creative things we can do for ourselves. It purifies the pathway of the spirit and allows us to BE-come and thus, in each moment of our present existence, to truly BE! - WD Allan Forgiveness is however also one of the things we do to clean-up the emotional clutter that stops us from BE-ing who and what we truly are, in our present, in our moment, once the pains of our present have become the pains of the recent and our stalled distant past. - WD Allan Many believe that forgiveness is one of those things one does to make themselves and others feel better of the past. All true enough. Consider the great terms of spiritual endearment we work through to open our awareness however. - WD Allan The very wise prose spoken below can also be versed in terms of the mindset of the purest of thinking of meditation as well. In fact there are those who would say that prayer is meditation directed towards the Great Spirit instead of an inner-directed focus of ones attention. Either way, and more in fact, the continuous conversation that takes place since the moment of our birth up to the moment of our passing beyond the veil that stands between this physical existence to the other side is a conversation that never ends. It is a song, a verse, a seamless and a never ending discussion that attenuates the soul of our being in such a way that it enacts and validates the very moment of creation itself. Just because one is living ones daily life, busy with the actions of the moment of the day, walking another boardwalk along the spiritual path doesn't mean that the conversation ever ends. The old saying is that God knows our prayers even before we do. Such is the nature of the seamless soulfully spiritual bond between the Great Spirit and all that encompasses the Great Spirits consciousness. From the planets and to the stars, from the smallest pebble in the forest and to the spirit that resides behind the physical eye that sees all that is, there is nothing that is unknown or ever unspoken between ourselves and the Great Spirit. The act of verbally or intimately stating it in some way is not for the Great Spirits benefit, it is for our own. Something to really think on huh? - WD Allan "All work and no play makes Jack a..." well you know how the rest goes. Everyone has their focus in life and their own personal schedules that they follow on any given day. When however these schedules begin to become too skewed towards any one end of that great pie-chart of existence, you know, what some of the more notable "Gestalt" minded thinkers refer to as those separate areas of personal development, one becomes thrown out of whack in many ways. Ones vocational self, ones recreational self, ones educative self, ones family self and so on exhibit this Gestalt chart of the self. Each slice of the pie its been said tenders some attention from the overall conscious energy of the self, and when scribed into a good and complementary balance, a person more often than not settles themselves quite well in the world. When however a soul marks all too much attention to their vocational self, or to their recreational self and so on as a sudden rule of their days, they end up out of balance and then they function as if they are out of balance when its not necessary to do so. Yes, times and personal destiny sometimes calls for such attention. Other times however some skew themselves out of balance through an attendance towards personal glory, personal pain, personal anxiety, personal gain, or yes, even personal happiness. A life lived in some circumspect balance is a life tuned for the ascension of a living conscious awareness of the self and what lies beyond the self. Seek some balance in all things in your life and the return will be an eventual balance of the universe in return. A good goal, yes? - WD Allan
