Intuition: Your Portal to Spiritual Growth and Guidance

From Examiner.com, By David LaBuda

Albert Einstein is quoted as saying that "The only real valuable thing is intuition." Intuition as defined by Merriam-Webster.com is "quick and ready insight" or "immediate apprehension or cognition".

So it is said that man may not have precise knowledge of a particular thing but he can think and make judgments and suppositions about it. He can conjecture and see it to such a degree of correctness and accuracy that his actions and expectations in relation to any particular thing may be exactly right.

We all do things intuitively. All of us have also had the occasion to flash back and remember, often when something goes wrong, that just prior to the event we had an intuition about what might happen but, chose to ignore it because we were most likely doing something else at the time and so we simply shoved the intuition aside with the thought that it was perhaps absurd or simply just couldn't happen.

If you have ever had the occasion to spill anything, you might recall that prior to the spill, you had an intuition warning you of that possibility and went ahead and moved your arm quickly anyway perhaps because the thought you had about moving it was already in progress and it was more of a reaction that an intention at that moment. Hence, the spill occurred. You may have even commented at the time, that you knew it would happen.

"Listen to your intuition.  It will tell you everything you need to know."
- Anthony J. D'Angelo

For those of you who believe in spiritual guides, angels, or that we can actually have a conversation by way of thought with God, or some form of Universal Intelligence, or perhaps even The Force, know that Intuition is how that guidance or conversation takes place. We can ask a question with a thought or intention but the answer always comes in the form of an intuition or knowing. God's one and only voice is silence. All of a sudden we just know the answers to everything we sincerely want or need to know.

Our problems do not necessarily come because we are attracting them as some would have us believe, although we can certainly attract problems if we are not mindful of our thoughts, but rather because we are not paying attention to our internal guidance system, our intuition.

"There is a Universal, intelligent, life force that exists within everyone and everything. It resides within each one of use as a deep wisdom, an inner knowing. We can access this wonderful source of knowledge and wisdom through our intuition, an inner sense that tells us what feels right and true for us at any given moment." - Shakti Gawain, author of Developing Intuition

Our intuition is constantly active and attempting to guide us in the direction of our most desired goals or objectives according to the Law of Attraction. There are also those who believe that our intuition is also always guiding us in the direction of our higher purpose for this lifetime. According to these beliefs, unless we are learning everything we can about this lifetime, we are not preparing adequately for the next one.

Einstein proved that everything is made up of energy. We are made up of energy. Since energy cannot be created nor destroyed, we do not die when we leave this world but simply transcend into another form of existence. Once our higher purpose is fulfilled, we are then ready for our transcendence although it may not take place precisely at that moment.

If you doubt that we live more than one lifetime, you might care to read Raymond Moody's book entitled Life After Life. The book takes a very scientific approach to studying the near death experience. It's available in paperback and I read it in a matter of hours. It's one of those books you cannot easily put down.

Our intuition is also largely responsible for our creativity. In Napoleon Hill's classic book Think and Grow Rich, he recalls an interview he once had with Dr. Elmer Gates, of Chevy Chase, Maryland who in his lifetime was attributed with more than 200 patented inventions including the foam fire extinguisher, and a climate-controlling air conditioner. It seems that Dr. Gates would sit for hours in a dark room with a pad and pencil waiting for his intuition to trigger for him the exact idea he needed to solve any problem he might be faced with including the idea for that next invention.

Thank you for reading! I sincerely hope some of the ideas presented here will be of value to you. Your comments are always welcome.
